I have stumbled upon a unique indoor teak furniture manufacturer called Bevara Design House. This teak company primarily manufacturers teak furniture made for indoor use.
Bevara’s teak products are harvested from sustainable teak plantations. The company makes it apparent that they are eco-friendly, and even define the term ’sustainability’ on their Sustainability Defined page on their website.
Design Style and History
You’ll immediately notice that Bevara teak products feature straight lines and minimalistic design that is also modern and contemporary. Their products display an cross between a Scandinavian and Asian inspiration. This is no coincidence since co-owner Erik Jorgensen is Scandinavian.
Erik met his wife and other Bevara co-owner during her back-packing trip across Europe and found a group of socially progressive women’s weaving cooperatives in Laos. This is where the Jorgensens first began an import company to bring these magnificent creations to America.
Personal Favorite Bevara Teak Furniture
Nest Bed
I get to see a lot of cool furniture at my job, but the Next Bed is simply eye catching. Not sure why, but its simple design makes it practical. Once again, being constructed of sustainable teak makes it even more eco-friendly and ensures a strong construction.
Laze Bench
I immediately noticed that Bevara has a knack for simple, but slightly humorous names. The Laze Bench is no different. This bench has recessed seat panels for your bottom and still features a minimalistic design.
Climb Bookshelves
Bevara has two matching bookshelves called Climb. One is six-feet tall, while the other is just over two-feet tall, perfect for use as a television stand. Each Climb Bookshelf features unique, multi-angled dividers.
The Bevara Design House truly knows how to take advantage of teak’s unique features and maintain their stance on eco-friendly and sustainable furniture. All the while continuing to produce interesting and minimalistic designs for their furniture.
