Getting Your Teak Ready for Winter

As the Summer months wind down and school resumes, many teak outdoor furniture owners savor the last of the warm weather and anticipate the fall and winter ahead. With the rush of back to school behind you, use your newfound time to prepare your teak furniture for the upcoming cold season. Not only will you rejuvenate the natural warm glow of your teak furniture through the winter, but you also will ensure that your teak furniture won’t require any sanding or cleaning when you unpack it next spring.

While teak furniture is made to weather all of the elements, we still recommend you bring them inside or away from any winter snow. Doing this will slow the natural patina process and help you last through the winter months without having to touch up your teak furniture with more teak stain. We recommend a thorough cleaning of your teak furniture prior to storage to remove any possible food for mildew. Following these tips will ensure your teak furniture will stay a beautiful golden color through the remainder of the fall and winter seasons.
