My job is to provide you with any helpful information relating to outdoor teak furniture - where it comes from, how to take care of it, what to watch out for. A lot of this involves intensive internet research. In my research, I often come across other websites that sell goods fashioned from teak. Today I thought I’d mention one that really caught my eye, since their products seem like an excellent complement to our outdoor teak furntiture here at Dragonfly Teak. I’m talking about teaklimey.com.
Teaklimey is a small British company based in Thailand who specializes in crafting kitchen products made of teak. On their website, you’ll find beautiful and often clever handheld teak tools that can squeeze limes, crack nuts, crush garlic, and much more. You’ll also find elegant salt-and-pepper sets, “springy” teak salad tongs, and ingeniously designed pieces that can hold a full bottle of wine parallel to the counter.
What is perhaps most interesting about Teaklimey is how they get their teak wood. In a truly earth-friendly (and economical) fashion, this company uses recycled teak from derelict old stilt houses that have been condemned by the local Thai authorities. The house is then carefully dismantled and the teak transported back to their factory to be cut into the correct lengths. From there, the wood is hand-fashioned into the products you see on their website.
And speaking of their website, I should mention it is a very cleanly designed, intuitive, and easy experience.
So after purchasing one of our outdoor sets, why not put the icing on the cake with a pair of teak salad tongs?
